By and large, people are quite
ignorant concerning God's word, the Holy Bible. Yet interestingly enough, they
all seem to have some comment on this Bible that they've never read through
one time. One ignorant comment often made is that the
Bible was written by powerful men in order to control the masses.
My friend, the Bible has a lot of bad things to say about the rich man, including the one who exploits his workers...
James 5:1-3 — "Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days."
If anything, the Bible condemns rich men. James 2:5 states: "Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?" Most rich people don't want God because they already have their own little heaven on earth; but Hell awaits them in eternity. Those in this world who suffer and have no earthly possessions are far more likely to receive Jesus Christ than those who are rich and well-to-do.
Was the Bible Written to Control the
Masses?
The world says that the Bible provides social control of the masses. Certainly, the Bible is the most exploited book in the world. The world is saturated with religious conmen and crooks who manipulate people for sex, money and control of their lives. This could all be avoided if people would simply "search the Scriptures" as Jesus commanded in John 5:39. Any religious organization or so-called "church" that places the authority of men over that of God's Word is a cult.
The very way in which the Bible came into existence is irrefutable evidence that It wasn't written by a certain group of men to control the masses. The Bible was penned by 40 different men, from different nations, who lived in different centuries, and spoke different languages, most of whom never met each other. The odds of such a Book coming into existence, perfectly harmonizing in doctrinal soundness and prophetic meaning, is IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Literally, thousands of manuscripts have been unearthly of ancient Biblical texts, thus proving that the Bible did not originate from any one earthly source. The common denominator is God, Who assembled the Bible in such a manner to PROVE to mankind that the Bible is indeed God's inspired Word.
The Bible was NOT written as a means to control the masses of society. Fox News and other rotten news agencies have perfected the art of brainwashing the gullible public with lying propaganda. Public opinion surveys are being used extensive nowadays as a means to influence the way people think. This is called the "herd mentality." Most people want to err on the side of the common consensus (majority opinion). This is wrong. As believers, we should stand for what is true, genuine and right—regardless of what the majority of people think. It's the lying newsmedia and Hollywood propaganda that is being used by rich men to brainwash and control society—Christians and non-Christians alike.
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2nd Timothy 3:16).
