Souls for Jesus, let this my motto be;
souls for Jesus, twill be for eternity!

We are commissioned in Proverb 11:30, "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise." Obviously the opposite of being wise is being a fool. Tragically, MOST Christian believers today are foolishly sitting on the sidelines, while the world plunges into Hell without Jesus. It is EVERY believers duty to share the Gospel, the good news of Christ's work of redemption, with lost sinners.

Oh how foolish it is for any born-again believer to sit idle, missing out on all the glorious rewards of winning others to Christ. No wonder Jesus said, "...Why stand ye here all the day idle?" in Matthew 20:6. I am overjoyed every time I receive a letter from someone telling me that they've found Christ through my labors in the Lord. However, my greater hearts desire is to teach them to become soulwinners as well. It's simple math... if I lead 10 people to the Lord, that is wonderful; but what if I teach those 10 people to be soulwinners for Christ? If they each win 10 lost sinners to Christ, that's 100 converts. Amen!

Why Young People Aren't Becoming Soulwinners for the Lord

Thus, it is critically IMPORTANT that we teach those we lead to Jesus Christ to become SOULWINNERS! It is a very sad testimony upon the Christian community that those who have been saved the longest are doing the least for God. Do you know why Christian young people today are turning to worldly Christian rock, worldly theology, and worldly living? It's because they have been provided worldly mentors.

The average church is nothing more than a glorified social club-where the Gospel is watered down, no false religions are refuted, no damnable heresies are exposed, sin is not preached against, soulwinning is not emphasized, and sinful compromise has been redefined as "love." God deliver us from imposters like African American Gospel singer Kurt Carr, who is willing to unite with the wicked at all costs.

The love and acceptance he sings about is sinful compromise. The Bible commands us to SEPARATE from unbelievers, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord..." (2nd Corinthians 6:17). Country singer, Faith Hill, claims to be a spiritual Christian; yet she has posed twice in Playboy magazine. Lest you think this fact trivial, Faith Hill has already sold over 25,000,000 albums. Young people all across America are idolizing these godless reprobates who parade themselves as "Christians"; BUT, they AREN'T.

The World is at War with Christians!

"The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth." -Psalm 37:12

What young Christians need today is for pastors to get excited once again about serving God. Rock music is exciting--the artists look crazy, act crazy, and sing crazy. The average pastor is reminiscent of Barney Rubble from the Flintstones. What young people need is a CHALLENGE. There is nothing more exciting than contending for the faith.

Let's face it, teens have attitudes. I mean, they're ready to fight. It doesn't matter over what, they just want to fight for something. Young Christian people today are BORED in their churches, so they look to the heathen world for excitement and something to get upset over.

Every pastor in America should present the spiritual battles facing Christians today to the teens in the church. I mean we need to fight over the blood of Christ, because imposters like Dr. John MacArthur are claiming that Jesus' actual liquid blood was insignificant. We need to fight over abortion. We need to fight over the gambling, booze, and strip-joints in our local community. It doesn't take a lot of effort--standing out on a street corner with some big signs is a great way to stand against sin in the local community (and you can rest assure that people will think about your messages). Every church should have a regular street-preaching ministry. Bible verses are preferred in the messages. We need to fight against false religions, evolution, TV psychics, and imposters like Oprah Winfrey.

We need to fight against the lying covetous televangelists who are leading hundreds-of-millions of people into Hell. There are so many worthy issues today which need to be fought over. Each believer is called to be a soldier in the Lord's army, "Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ." (2nd Timothy 2:3).

It's not enough nowadays to hand a Bible to someone and expect them to self-start. People need to be led, which is exactly why Jesus commanded us to TEACH them in Matthew 28:20, "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you..." Let us be diligent to teach others to be soulwinners, and to challenge them to contend for the faith. I'll never forget visiting Dr. Roy Thompson's church in Cleveland Ohio, and the big sign in front of their church... "Abortion is Murder!" That's what America needs ... fighting believers! It's because we aren't fighting against sin and the Devil that we are instead fighting amongst ourselves.

How to Be a Soulwinner

It's as easy as leaving a Gospel tract on a restaurant table, or on the shelf in a store. I've trained my kids to bring Gospel tracks with them everywhere we go. We love the Chick tracts, and so do many people. I always wear shirts with pockets, so I have a place to keep my tracts. If you cannot afford to purchase tracts, there are several ministries which provide free Gospel tracts. I would recommend writing your own Gospel tracts (if you are sure the information is Biblically sound). I'd be happy to read over the tract and give you my opinion.

I find that many Gospel tracts don't mention Jesus' blood, or the fact that the Biblical Gospel EXCLUDES all forms of self-righteousness and good works. I also am leery of tracts that make people think that they must forsake their sins to e saved. This heresy is called "Lordship Salvation" and it is VERY common these days. I certainly believe that a genuine Christian should display some evidence of being regenerated; but this usually comes after a person grows in the Lord for awhile--it's NOT a requirement to be saved. The only thing a man must give up in order to be saved is unbelief. Biblical "repentance" is a change of MIND concerning sin and the Savior.

Perhaps the soulwinner's greatest challenge is in getting people UNSAVED. Yes, you read that right ... unsaved. Proverb 26:12 states, "Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him." I find that many of the lost people I try to win to the Lord are brainwashed with false religion. In such cases, I make an attempt to expose their false religion; but I don't get into heated debates. The exception is if I'm in a group setting and others can benefit from the truth. The Apostle Paul said in Titus 3:10-11, "A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself."

We shouldn't waste too much time trying to deprogram people's stubborn minds, when there's so many ignorant sinners needing the truth. Most of the religious people I've witnessed to know the truth very well; but they have knowingly rejected it. In Mark 7:9 Jesus stated, "Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition." So know in advance that some people will NEVER get saved, even if you could raise the dead for them to see ... "And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead" (Luke 16:31).

The BEST method of soulwinning is just to give people the simple Gospel. You never know what God is doing in someone's heart. Romans 1:16 declares that the GOSPEL is the "power of God" unto salvation. It's NOT our eloquent speeches or suave linguistic abilities that win people to the Lord; but rather, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Simply show people that we are all sinners (Romans 3:10,20-23). Show them that the deserved wages of our sin is death (physical death, Romans 6:23; and spiritual death, Revelation 20:11-15). Show them that God loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into this world to die for our sins (John 3:16; Romans 5:8). Then show them Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

The word "call" in Greek simply means "to rely upon." I always like to show 1st Peter 1:18-19 to people I am witnessing to, "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ..." Not enough churches stress the importance of the blood of Christ, and with imposters like John MacArthur denying the efficacy of Christ's blood--we need to diligently contend for the faith. Every child of God should fully realize that it is Jesus' blood that has taken our sins away, not some prayer that we prayed.

Please Become a Soulwinner for Jesus

For the sake of winning the lost to Christ, we need to take that initial step to become soulwinners. Nothing is difficult once you take those first initial steps. The best way to become a soulwinner is to give out Gospel tracts.

People are confused everywhere nowadays, from Chicago to Seattle, concerning the Scriptures and salvation. Satan knows the best way to prevent souls from being saved is to create as much confusion as possible. Thankfully, the Bible is clear that Jesus Christ is the ONE WAY to Heaven (John 14:6; Acts 4:10-12; 10:43).
