"But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication." —Revelation 2:14
The above Scripture is a rebuke of the church in Pergamos for HOLDING THE DOCTRINE OF BALAAM. The "doctrine (or teaching) of Balaam" is that of being unequally yoked with the world. We read in Numbers 25:1, "And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab. And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods. And Israel joined himself unto Baal-peor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel." Balaam's devilish doctrine caused this.
There is much of this type of heresy being taught in many churches today ... ministers teaching that it's ok to be homosexual ... ChristianityToday endorsing Harry Potter's witchcraft ... feminist theology ... a Southern Baptist church in Tennessee calling an ordained lesbian to be its pastor ... a pastor who regularly dresses as an Elvis impersonator ... Jack Van Impe calling Pope John Paul II one of the greatest men of the 20th century ... pastors who call abortion a "minor concern" in their church... churches who promote Hollywood movies ... and the damnable Christian rock music industry!
Here's some background on what Balaam did. In Numbers 22-25, we read about the prophet Balaam. The Israelites had just defeated the Amorites in Numbers 22, and now Moab was scared they were next. The king of Moab (Balak) had sent his princes to make Balaam an offer. If Balaam the prophet would curse the Israelites, the king of Moab promised Balaam fame and ANYTHING he wanted (Numbers 22:17). Anything he wanted—food, fame, fortune, etc. Balaam stood his ground in refusing to curse the Israelites; BUT, at the same time devised a mischievous plan to where he could have the best of BOTH world's. Balaam wanted the good life that the king of Moab had promised, as made evident in 2nd Peter 2:14-15...
"Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness."
Balaam knew that he dare not curse the Israelites, and I don't think he really wanted to either; BUT, he was sinfully covetous, like the CCM crowd today. They want that money!
Be Not Unequally Yoked Together with Unbelievers!
What exactly was the "doctrine (or teaching) of Balaam"? It was being UNEQUALLY yoked together with unbelievers. Balaam basically said to the king of Moab, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." If you can't beat the Israelites, then yoke with them by using your daughters to seduce their men. God was furious and 24,000 Israelites died as a result of their fornication and idolatry. The Word of God plainly teaches that God wants the believer to SEPARATE from the sinful and unbelieving world...
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord..." —2nd Corinthians 6:14-17
It is unbiblical for Christians to yoke together unbelievers—whether it be in a marriage, in a business partnership, etc. If you marry an unsaved person, you will have the Devil for a father-in-law. Think about it. Balaam's devilish doctrine caused God's children to become unequally yoked with the heathen. The same thing always happens when God's children unite with the ungodly ... apostasy! This clearly describes America today!
The Israelites sinned greatly when they yoked together with the heathen. Their sexual sins quickly led to idolatry. You'll always get food-poisoning eating at the Devil's table. Sin will always cost you more than you were willing to pay, take you farther than you wanted to go, and keep you longer than you intended to stay! Don't let those neon lights of Sin City fool you!
Christian Rock/ Rap/ Hip Hop is of the Devil

"Christian rock" is a lie, for there is no such animal. There is nothing even remotely "Christian" about the Devil's music. It is the music of Balaam, of being yoked with the heathens.
The doctrine of Balaam encourages Christians to yoke with the unbelieving sinful world. This is exactly what the CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) gang is doing today. They are encouraging young Christians to listen to the Devil's rock-n-roll and rap music.
You can't even tell the difference between the Devil's music and the world's. The lyrics are drowned out and obscured by the devilish music itself. Most of the lyrics are so lame and ambiguous that there could be multiple interpretations of what the writer meant. This is deliberate.
You can't even tell the difference between Christian rock's performers and the world's...

Conclusion
"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." (Ephesians 5:11)
There is NO difference! The music of Balaam has infiltrated our churches today and is leading Christian young people to yoke up with the Moabite heathens. Never before have we experienced so much apostasy in America! It's getting so bad that you can't even tell who's a Christian anymore by looking at them. Titus 2:14 states, "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." God wants His children to stand out from the world, and to be very different.
In sharp contrast, the Devil deceives Christians into thinking they must be like the world in order to win them over to Christ. This is ecumenism, and the doctrine of Balaam. Worldly teenagers are coming to worldly churches to hear worldly music. They're not coming to Biblical Christianity, which preaches the Law of God against sin.
Billy Graham is a modern-day Balaam, who has spent most of his life trying to unequally yoke God's children with the heathen world. I judge not him personally; but rather, his unfruitful works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11). The doctrine of Balaam is the exact same thing being taught by the Ecumenical Movement today. They would rather be united by error, then to be divided over truth; BUT, God commands us in 2nd Corinthians 6:14-17 to separate over truth.
I don't condemn anyone, for the Bible condemns all of us as guilty, dirty, rotten, hell-deserving sinners. My salvation solely rests in Christ's righteousness, because of the precious blood that He gave for our sins. My intention is not to be unkind; but rather, to expose the demonic nature of so-called "Christian rock," and also to expose the artists as bad influences for Christian teenagers to follow.
The CCM crowd is trying to yoke together God's children with the Devil's music. They speak of love, diversity, and faith; BUT, Ephesians 5:11 commands us to have NO fellowship with Satan's works of darkness. All rock music is of the Devil. Balaam was a FALSE PROPHET in the Old Testament who caused God's children to unequally yoke with the heathen. 24,000 Israelites were slain as a result of their sin (Numbers 25:1-9). God hates Ecumenicalism compromise and has commanded us as Christians to SEPARATE from the sinful world.
The Devil's lie, Ecumenism, the doctrine of Balaam—is that we should set aside our Christian differences in the name of love and unite with the sinful world. The Word of God teaches the exact OPPOSITE! Christians are NOT to unite with unbelievers or those who are worldly. Christian Rock music causes Christian young people to unite with the world, because all rock music is worldly.
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." —1st John 2:15-17
"Ye that love the LORD, hate evil..." —Psalm 97:10
